ford in this district. It was situated about a mile and a half to the east of the village, near the Strand Road.
Long ago when a funeral reached a cross-road all the people knelt down and said a prayer for the repose of the soul of the dead person. The Sign of the Cross is carved on a stone a few hundred yards to the east of the school. The stone was put there because a woman hanged herself near that place. There are no mass paths in this district.
