  1. There were a lot of old houses in this district long long ago. All these houses had thatched roofs. The thatch was made by the people themselves out of reed and heath.
    They used to have their beds in the kitchen of these old houses. They used to have the fireplace at the gable end of the houses.
    All the old houses had some kind of chimneys. They used to have two same panes of glass in the windows.
