Cork. and he used walk home again in the evening. Strong Men :- David Twomey lived in Ballintubber, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork. He used lift heavy weights and he used lift two sacks of grain at the time.Thomas Hayes of Ballintubber, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork was a farm labourer and he used lift up big stones and other heavy objects.
One day he was working for a farmer and it happened that they were threshing wheat. They said that they would challenge each other. So Hayes said that he would lift any weight that they would put on his back when he would be laying down. Then the men said that they would put two sacks of wheat on his back and they thought he was not strong enough to lift it. So Hayes then lay down and the men then put the two sacks of wheat on his back. Then the men told Hayes get up and Hayes did so without(continues on next page)- Collector
