  1. About a mile and a half east of this village there is a lodge. Near this lodge thee was an ash tree. This lodge was supposed to be haunted and families refused to live in it saying that at midnight the cups used to rattle on the dresser.
    No one could solve the mystery and it remained a mystery until one day a travelling man came to this place and inquired about the house and agreed with the landlord to stay in the house for a short time and try to solve the mystery. On the first night he heard nothing and on the second night he heard nothing but on the third night about the hour of midnight he heard the cups rattling in the dresser. he immediately went to the door
