    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    There are three forges in the parish of Kildorrery one in Farahy and two in Kildorrery. The names of the smiths are Walsh, Cross, and O'Dea. These three learned their trade from their fathers as in turn they had to learn it from some one else.
    The forge in Farahy is near a brook.
    The roof is of felt and tarred. The door is ordinary but tarred.
    In the forge there are two fireplaces, but only one is used always. The smith uses several tools at his work - a hammer, a sledge, and some chisels. The smith shoes horses and asses. He can make any kind of farm implements such as harrows ploughs thistle-cutters.
