- People nowadays get married all times of the year. Very seldom people get married in the Month of May or on Fridays or Monday because these days are unlucky.
Long ago when a couple were married they would go to the bride's home and spend the day there feasting. In the evening they all went to her future home.
Another custom was the bride, would bring to the groom's home among her effects a bed. Another very old custom was that the four concerned the man and woman and the bride's maid and the best man would ride home on four horses, the first and second to arrive would tend at the feast.
Sometimes after being married the pair would walk home and spend the day ordinarily. They would keep the feast for the Sunday after.
Nowadays when married they go away to Dublin or elsewhere for any interval(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
