Long ago people made their own candles.

Long ago the people made their own candles. They made them out of the fat of the animals which was called tallow. They melted the tallow in a pot and then poured it into moulds or shapes made in the ground. The wick was made of sheep's wool. The candles didnt give as much light as the candles that are made now. They were dark in colour.
