  1. Long ago it was a great customer to keep the Christmas candles for five years. After the fifth Christmas the woman of the house would go around all the fields with two candles lighting and wherever the candle would go out there would be gold hidden.
    There was a woman near Ballyvourney village and she was going round with the candles lighting and every step she would take, the candle would go out and she thought the farm was full of gold. She was for a whole week digging the farm up and she did not find any gold. She burned the candles and she never believed in it again.
