The following is in connection with the fort of J.J. Cronins. In the year 1931 a poor man happened to go to the fort to cut a tree for firewood. It was a very large tree and weighed about two tons. When he had the work of cutting the tree done he decided he would not cart it home untill the following day. He went home overjoyed at the grand tree he had for the fine. When he returned next morning the tree had mysteriously disappeared and anyone never since went to cut a tree in the fort in John J. Cronins in Plover-Field.
