    24. Some mothers cut the sign of the Cross with tongs held in left hand, three times over the head, and three times at the feet of the girl going out to be married.
    25. Two spoons given in cup signify an invitation to a wedding.
    26. If a person fall of a seat he won't be married that year.
    27. If a girl's apron strings become loose some one is getting inside of her.
    28. If a black dog without a white hair goes into a dairy no butter will be got from the milk.
    29. Butter is taken by means of a "dead hand". In every case it is a woman who uses the hand, which she has cut off a corpse in the graveyard. Before sunrise she milks her neighbour's cows.
