  1. The local Landlords were the Warrens and the Masseys who were the big Landlords of note. Their families had been in this country for generations. They were looked upon as fairly good landlords. There were very few evictions carried out under their regime. Mostly all the people who were evicted went to America. the landlord and their ancestors got possession of the land from the English when the latter conquered the Irish. The land was divided into farms by the landlords.
