  1. The most common farm animals are horses, cows, pigs, sheep, goats and donkeys. The horse is the most valuable and gets the most care. He lives in a stable and is fed on oats and mangolds.
    He is shod at the forge when necessary and when trained properly is a gentle animal. In towns and cities horses are decorated with a hawthorn branch for luck on May day.
    All the cows in the farm-yard are housed in what is called a stall. There are different methods of tying
