    only a biscuit a day. Tim went out to mind the cows daily and he was very broken hearted. He used get nothing to eat only the biscuit from one day to the next. One day he was sitting down in a shady place to eat his biscuit when he saw a small man over him on the ditch. Tim said "hallo small man. You are a nice man. I often heard my mother talk about nice men and you are a nice man. Come down here until I give you half my biscuit. The man said he did not want it but he would the boy three wishes. Tim began to wish. He wished for a tin flute. His second wish was anyone that would hear him playing his flute would have to dance whether they liked him or not. His last wish was every time that everytime he looked at his stepmother she would give a kick to something.
    He got his wishes. One day there was a party in the district and all the people attended. A few boys and Tim were hopping about the place. Tim looked to his step-mother who gave a kick
