  1. When the great monastery was in Aughaboe the monks had a white horse which was accustomed to carry a monk from one monastery to another.
    At length this animal grew so clever that it used carry its loads without anyone in charge of it. The monks had only to put the thing on its back and it would take it to whatever place it was told to. The monks were very fond of this animal.
    One night it started from a monastery with a rich load on its back. It was dark when it was leaving the monastery. There were three people by the names of:
