  1. The only treasure supposed to be in this district is in a field belonging to Tom Phelan. Drim,Mountrath. There is money supposed to be hidden in this field. Various attempts have been made to locate it but all have failed. The land on which on attempt was mas was met with a dire result. Some men started to dig the field here and there looking for the treasure. When they came to a certain part of the field and started to dig they heard a moan. They immediately gave up and no attempt was made afterwards.
