    Church and therefore it was called "Chapel Lane", to distinguish it from "Church Lane".
    Millbrook:- There was an old mill near the present site of this place. Therefore it was called "Millbrook".

  2. The stream which flows through our wood is locally called "Glen-na-Houn". The mountain behind our house is known as "Slieve Thyoul". [?] There are many fields in our district which are called after former owners, for instance:-
    "Clery's Ground", "Brien's Field", "Frank's Field", "Goulding's Wood", and "Byrne's Ground".
