  1. Local Heroes
    The Fianna had their headquarters on the hill of Allen in Co.Kildare. One of their famous leaders, Fionn Mac Cool one day stood on the hill and threw and enormous stone from him. It landed in Punchestown about 9 miles away. It is easily a tonne in weight and about fifteen feet in height. It is to be seen to the present day on the ground where the horse racing is held annually.
