  1. One day a wee woman went into The Piper Hughes' house and asked for a bit of bacon. The people of the house said that they had no bacon but they had plenty. The wee woman went out but going out the door she turned and said "you will have plenty of bacon before night" That night when the Hughes went to feed the pigs they went out to the pig [cran] and found the three pigs dead.

  2. About 70 years ago a man named Pat Donnelly lived in a little farm in the Townland of Leitrim. Campbells of Emyvale were the landlords of Leitrim at the time and he owed them the rent. A man named Brennan was the baliff. Donnelly had some flax to sell and the baliff was watching to see when he would sell it. One morning Donnelly put
