    There is a place near Barnakill called "Cill Crónán", because there was a church there.
    There is a place near Castlecomer called Dysart. There is a graveyard there.
    There was a battle fought near Castlecomer in (1798). Father Murphy was there. Borecoyle is the name of it now.
    There are the ruins of an old church in Mr. Walsh's field of Lowhill. It is about two miles from the Town of Ballinakill, and the tomb-stones are to be seen there yet. Cromwell and his soldiers fired at it from the hill road.
    There was a church in Rosconnel which Cromwell also knocked. The priests who were in it got away safely.
    There is a ruined church in Clonking between Abbeyleix and Durrow.
    There was an old church in Ballycondra. The field in which it was is now called the "Church Field.
    Cillgorey. The walls of the Church still stand. Cromwell tumbled it three hundred years ago and shot the Priest saying Mass on the Altar.
    Cillroghnan. There is a graveyard
