  1. Over 100 years ago there was a group of men in a Society called "The White Feet" who resided in Shankill and in the neighbouring townslands. Their principal object was to crush the landlords, they threatened the people who would not support them, they went out about the country by night and returned to their homes by day.
    The presevered in trying to put out the landlords but they did not succeed.
    The Government found out some of the men and put them into prison, the remainder lost courage and went back to their homes.
