  1. Thomastown road is the main road from Kilkenny to Wexford and continues the Ross road. The Ross road is a new road which is a new way to New Ross. The road which led from new Ross long ago to Inistioge is the Kilcross road. It breaks out at Cluain Kiln on to the main road.
There is a road which leads from Mrs Newports avenue to Mc Namee's house now covered with grass. It joins the Main road from Graigunamanagh to Inistioge, about a hundred yards from the Rock road.
The rock road was made during the famine times as relief for the starving people. Before this road was made the rocks stretched out over the river. They blasted the rocks and the marks of the jumpers are still to be seen.
Their wages was five-pence a day. The people had to do very heavy work with their hands. The blacksmiths made the shovels and spades for them. Some used wooden spades which they made themselves. The people had many short cuts and there is one leading down through the wood from Kylogue to Inistioge.
