    There were three Chandleries of which two remain. Potters and Pierts.
    There were two distilleries in John Street.
    There was a large manufacturing depot that repaired the differant parts of machinery for the other industries. This belonged to Mr Power of High Street.
    Two foundries owned by De Loughrys.
    Corn and flour mills were very prosperous at one time.
    About two hundred and fifty years ago painting was introduced into Kilkenny by Flan Mac Egan and flourished there better than in any other district.
    The Bacon trade about seventy years ago was in a very flourishing contition in Kilkenny.
