  1. Raths
    There are two fairy fonts in our
    district . They are round in shape
    and are surrounded by bushes and
    stones. They were supposed to be the
    burial places of the Danes . Some
    say that if you were passing
    by a rath on moonlight nights
    you could hear the sound of music
    and dancing but you could see
    nothing. Once upon a time men
    carted stones from a rath to build
    some houses. The next day a fairy
    blast turned turned the cans in the yard and broke the shafts. The noise
    durning the night was terrific and
    the following day they canted back
    the stones again. It is also supposed to be unlucky to cut any
    bushes on take any stones
