  1. In olden times people had many different cures:
    1. Buttermilk and clay rubbed to sore eyes will cure them.
    2. To cure warts get linen thread and put a knot on the thread for every wart. Then put the thread in a double hawthorn bush and when the thread rots the warts will fall off.
    3. For a cough get an egg and stick a needle in it. Suck the white of the egg and it will cure the cough.
