    In our own district there were many people evicted from their homes in former times.
    One family evicted was Raftices of Powerswood. They got a wooden hut to live in.
    The day that they got the hut there were many people there. Among them was O'Connal. There was a large procession. The people who carried the hut was leading it.
    When they got back the land. one Sunday all the men of the neighbourhood gathered together and carried up the hut. Where it can be seen in the yard to this day.

  2. Old schools existed in our own district. There was one in the townland of Kilminock. Also there is a pond in a field of Hoyne's of Coolroemore. It is called the School House pond. There is said to have been a school there and the pond got it's name from it.
