    Lodges
There were three gate lodges, only one of which is now left. It is right opposite the school and in a very dilapidated state. The other two were knocked down by Thomas Boyd a mid-landlord of very bad repute to build his house at Chilcomb Park closer to New Ross. Some fine stone work in the lodges is supposed to have influenced him to this course.
An attempt was made on Boyds life, of which more later.
