    Interesting Story
At any rate her father has told her the following interesting story connected with the pattern.
The evening of the pattern was spent in merry-making and perhaps a little spirits was partaken of. On a particular occasion some trouble arose and blood was shed.
The combatants with the blood on their hands betook themselves to the Holy Well and there washed their hands. The well immediately dried. This was a cause of great affliction to the people who besought the parish priest to do something about the matter. He came and prayed over the well, the water then returning.
