On reaching the spot he said "What would you do now if Mr. Lloyd found you here". She not recognising either answered, "Shure I would not mind Mr. Lloyd at all its only ould "Bruck Barry" which was the nick-name of the steward.
As a rule the landlord spent a lot of his time in England knowing how well the agents would take his place in his absence. For that reason he was not too well known by the tenants.
