  1. "Local Fairs"
There are local fairs held every month in Kildare, Naas and Newbridge. Naas has a pig and cattle fair. Newbridge has a cattle, sheep, and pig fair, and Kildare has a cattle and sheep fair. Men go to the fairs early, and when they sell any of the stock they give luck money to the buyer. They clap hands when they have agreed. When the beasts are sold, they are branded S on the backs to show they are sold. The fairs are held in a place called a green or a square.
Newbridge ; Second Tuesday in the month cattle, sheep, and pig fair.
Naas ; Third wednesday in the month Pig and cattle fair.
Kildare ; The fourth Tuesday in the month cattle and sheep.
