  2. There are about three forges in this parish. there is one in Allenwood, South, one in Robertstown, and one in Allen. Mr. Cross owns the forge in Allenwood South, and Mr. Kelly owns the one in Robertstown, and Mr. Fitzgerald owns the one in Allen. Mr. Cross shoes horses and puts iron on wheels, and he makes slanes, for the people round here. Where Mr. Crosse's forge is now there was once a school.
