    Local Marriages.
Marriages mostly take place before Lent or in the fair summer months. It is unlucky to get married on the thirteenth of any month.Marriage matches are not made in this district.Money is given to the bride when she is getting married by her parents. The wedding feast is held in the bride's house.People go there and dance and play games and enjoy themselves especially in the mountain district.Sometimes straw-boys visit the houses. They steal the wedding cake and play other tricks.People attending the wedding come in motor cars or in traps or side-cars.They did not ride on horseback.
