    gooseberry bush. The person who makes the cure must have their parents living. Point one thorn each time at the persons eye and say in the name of the Father and the son and of the holy ghost then throw them across your right shoulder. This has to be repeated nine times every day for nine days after other.
    The whooping cough. This disease is cured by one of your baptismal sponsors buying a red ribbon for you and putting it around your neck or it can be cured by two persons getting married having the same surnames.
    Warts. There are several ways of curing warts. They are cured by accidentally finding a stone with a hole in it. The hole must contain water. Rub the water on the wart it will cure them. Another cure is to hand a snail on a bush according as the nail withers the wart will wither also.
    Rickets. The cure is made in a blacksmiths forge. The child has to be taken around the anvil nine times.
