  1. Long ago when Saint Patrick was in Ireland he passed along the Lisnafunchin road. He passed by the River Dynan and he was trying to cross but he was not able and so he curse the stones of the Dynan and the tops of the rushes.
    One day there were three men coming home from a public house beyond the Dynan and when they were half way across the river one of them slipped on the cursed stones and was drowned. Ever since then the stones are believed to be cursed.
