    yet and has been. Turf or peat was used for fire and sometimes bog fir was chopped into lumps and burned. It was also used for lighting pipes and for lighting the house. Lights were also made of the inside of a rush dipped in old lard of fat or butter. There was also resin slots melted resin and an old rag which gave out a spluttering light. The people made there own candles at home on a wee pot called a cam it is boat - shaped and had also three feet.
