    In olden times shops were far more common. In olden times the people went to the nearest town to make their markets. Labour was given in exchange for goods. If a poor man was not fit to give the shopkeeper money for the goods he would go and work for her.
    People went to sell their corn in Castleblayney as it was nearest town. It was not lucky to make a bargain on Sunday.
