  1. Signs of Rain
East wind brings most rain in our district and is dreaded by every one "East wind neither good for man nor beast" The cat scratches wood and the dog eats grass when rain is coming. The ducks quack loudly as a sign of rain. The Peacocks cry, the distant hills are looking nigh and Betty's joints are full of pain when we have the coming "rain."
