The best runners around this district were Frank Kiernan, Thomas Duffy and Ned Duffy. Thomas Duffy ran a race with a cow some years ago. One day one of his cows went into a neighbours man's field and he went into it to stop her out. She began to run down a big bray[?[ and Thomas caught a hold of her by the horn and got her out.
