  1. Long ago a man dide of hunger in Knockagolis. This man offered his farm of land for one stone of meal but he would not get it.
    The farms were very small and there was almost a house in every field. Thoes houses contained large familys but when the famine came they had nothing to eat and right people would not give the poor people anything so they died with the hunger.
