    Some rushed for possession,
    Some fell on the floor,
    Others grabed for Miss Quillan,
And more made for the door.

There was rarein and taren going up Rice's field
I left down my fiddle and followed the seen
There was riggle and raggle as the wind it did blow,
And every man shouting "oh Kate can I go.
This song was composed by, Joe Duffy, Johny Duffy, and Patrick Forde. It was composed in 1936 as a result of a dance which Miss Kate Quillan attended, in Miss Fitzpatrick's.
Joe Duffy is a native of the townland of Carrickaduff and Patrick Forde is a native of Lagan. John Duffy is a relation of Joe Duffy's and lives in Tattygar.
