    He came in here last night and began for to talk
    And sat at the fire till it was ten-o-clock,
    He went out met his comrades who were on patrol,
    And when I went to bed sure the ass he was stole,
    If I knew where the ass was it would ease my mind,
    I suppose when I get him he'll be dogged or be blind,
    I think I will run to the very best place
    That is into the Seargeant and there'll state my case.
