fair is in Ballybay. There are no special fairs held for sheep. In Ballybay the cattle are sold in the streets. Sometimes when the farmers are on their way to the fair they get their animals sold along the road. The fair is held in Ballybay every third Friday for horses. The luck penny contains two shillings or a half-crown. When they agree to see the animal they strike hands and sometimes spit out. There is a little garden in Avalbane, Clontibret which the landlords used for putting cattle in.
