  1. Marriages take place in this district before Advent. May and June are said to be unlucky months in which to marry. There are also lucky and unlucky days, which are expressed in the following rhyme.
    Monday for health
    Tuesday for wealth
Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses and
    Saturday no day at all.
Matchmaking was very common in olden times and is still at present. The boy who is to get married goes to the house of the bride. Sometimes the bride's parents gives their daughter money and goods, and clothes for her new home.
