    was taken to the weaver and by him woven into cloth called "bandle" cloth. The fine linen was used for shirting. The coarse cloth made from the "small toe" was used for sheeting.
    Before being used, the bandle cloth was bleached by washing it in hot water, to which soft soap, and lime juice were added.
