    a man of this town-land named Jeremiah Mahoney set out in the morning going to Tralee on foot. He did not know the journey that was before him. After having many rests he arrived in Tralee. He then went into the first shop he met to get something to eat. The man asked him how far he had walked. He told him saying;
    "The longest road must have an ending,
    A half a loaf is better than no bread,
    Necessity is the mother of all inventions,
    The longest way around is the nearest way home."
