  1. The Land League was started by Michael Davitt in Mayo in November 1879, and the Land League committee was formed in Knocknagree Parish in June 1880. The names of the Land-Lords in Knocknagree Parish at the time of the Land League establishment are as follows.

    Scrahan - Archdeacon Bland
    Shamballa - Mc. Donagh Killarney
    Park - O'Connor Abbeyfeale
    Umeraleoy - Doctor Barry Kunturk
    Knockeenagullane - Clarey Queenstown
    Laughtaigh - Parson hewsone Killarney
    Church Nohoval - Lady Cronin Coltsman
    Nohoval Daly - Shine Lalor
    Carrig and Lyre - O'Leary Millstreet.
    In the townlands of Tureenglanihy and Tureenclasagh the tenants suffered most. Those lands formerly belonged to the O'Keefes but in 1641 got Confiscated to the Cronins. The Cronins of Clounts and Ramore had it leased and their last term terminated in 1832. The whole electoral Division of Kingwilliamstown was then taken over by the Crown. The Rent of Tureenclasagh under the Cronins was £ 40 which was increased by the crown to £101. After the Mackey
