  1. I live in Bally-carthy. It is situated about three miles from Tralee. The land is very fertile and that accounts for the fact that descendants of English planters settled there. In 1922 Colonel Nash's home was burned by the Republican troops because it was occupied by Free State troops. In the next town-land is a mansion and demense owned by Blennerhassets. The ancestors of the present owner once owned all tracks of land.
