  1. The Local Fairs
    The local fair is held in Ballyfarmon in County Roscommon. Long ago the fair was held at the pattern of Kilmactranny and at the pattern of Ballindoon. Buyers used to transact business in the country sometimes. Nearly all the lambs are bought in the country at present. Not many was bought in the country long ago because there was no way only carts to take them away.
    There was a fair held in Castlebaldwin up to thirty years ago. It was discontinued because the buyers stopped coming to it. The fairs that were held at the pattern of Kilmactranny and Ballinadoon is discontinued also because there was no railway near hand.
