  2. In the townland of Carns about a hundred years ago a young couple got married. Their names were Maria McGuinness and Mick Coleman. On the evening of the marriage Mick rode to Maria's house accompanied by his friends on their horses. Mick's horse's mane was plaited and tied with white ribbons. There was a backsuggen made of straw an put on the horse's back behind
