  1. Whooping Cough. Ferrets leavings is the cure.
    Colds. 1. Mountain sage is boiled in water and strained then drunk.
    2. Flaxseed boiled with liquorice and sugar candy.
    Cold on the Chest. Goose scam on brown paper and placed on the chest.
    Sore Throat. Your own stocking filled with salt and put around the neck.
    Hoarseness. The juice of the black currant.
    Mumps. A donkey's bridle on the child's head.
    Jaundice. Boil the bark of the Barberry tree and drink the liquid.
    Cough. Garlic eaten raw with some milk.
    Headaches. Boil the bark of Boxwood and drink the liquid.
    Sore Feet. Bathe them in hot potato water.
    Pain in the back. Put a hares skin on the back.
    Sore Eyes. Bathe them in black tea.
    A sty in the eye. Prick the sty with a gooseberry thorn for nine mornings.
    A weak heart. 1. Boiled Dandelion is a good cure for a weak heart.
    2. A cup of meal placed on the persons heart and certain prayers to be said for nine times every Monday and Thursday.
    Corns. 1. An ivy leaf steeped in vinegar and put on the corn.
    2. Tie a piece of fat meat on it.
    Head fever. Measure the persons head with a tie and pray
