    He died on the Island of Iona in 597 and he was buried there. In later years it is said his body was brought back to Ireland and he was laid to rest in Downpatrick in the one tomb with St. Brigid and St. Patrick. He was called by the four masters:
    A famous man by whom hostages were held
    A pious solider of the race of Conn.
